This book is very nice and would make a great series. This is a great introduction, and Rune is a good main character. She is rather easy to relate to, in my opinion, and she is in a tight spot. If you are someone who is having a bad time right now, she is a character that they need. I won't spoil her past, but you can learn everything you need in the Prologue, it is possibly the only prologue I actually read through and got me excited for the book.
The next main character is St. Benedict. He is a sly person, who is considerable one of my favorite characters in the book. If people like characters who are completely honest. He will literally tell you that he will kill you. He is also kind of cybernetic, which adds to the future feel of the book. He just enters the scene meaning business. And, we only learn a few things about him in the book.
Next, is the villains, which I just have to say meh. The lady, who I believe is never really named, is kind of terrifying. Another villain, mostly for St. Benedict, is another Saint, but let me tell you. This is just a title given to them to show they are high in what they do, they won't hesitate to murder you if you get in their way, if a saint in your opinion is someone who is pure, kind, and won't sin, then you are wrong.
Another good thing with this book is that it sets up a universe. With fallen Faerie Courts, to learning of how they identify each other with technology. Showing both the use of technology and magic in the society.
One of the low points, I suppose, is the villains, for some reason I wanted more from the lady, and more about her point of view, and more on the others.
But, if you enjoy fantasy and (or) technology themed books. This is the one for. I rate it 9/10. It is a great read and I'll post a spoilers review later. Bye~
